内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 The purpose of this research is to determine how students who worked as teaching staff in the "Smile Exercise Lesson" have changed their self-concept through actual interaction with challenged children and support for their sport activity. Furthermore, this research aims to obtain basic data on the effectiveness of fostering leaders through community sports activity support. "Smile Exercise Lesson" is an event designed for challenged children, which is operated in the university as one of the community sport activities support. Firstly, as a research method, a questionnaire survey was conducted before and after the students' participation in the Smile Gymnastic Lesson. The following results were obtained. Concerning changes in self-concept, no significant change in the self-concept total score or any other factor was observed; however, for students whose total scores were remarkably low before the lesson, the score in every factor, especially the self-recognition, improved significantly after the lesson, except for socialization factor scores. Concerning students' attitudes after their participation, the highest scores were observed for "understanding of the challenges", followed by "sense of selfdevelopment" and "satisfaction with work". For students who had never interacted with challenged people before, the event seemed to provide a good opportunity to understand them. Based on these results, it can be said that the experience in planning, managing, and operating sport events for challenged people provides a valuable opportunity to see the different aspects of sports. It was suggested that this lesson was a great opportunity for children to enjoy sports activity with the help of students. Moreover, it was also a good chance for students to gain a deeper understanding of challenged people through real experience, which could not be obtained through lectures. Moreover, the students' found their work to be both satisfying and challenging and fostered a sense of self-development.
