| 内容記述 | In the present study, we investigated the relationship between shooting percentages and the outcome of basketball games. The shooting ability of WJBL teams and their shooting percentages in each game were compared, and the relationship between shooting percentages and outcome were analyzed. The following definitions were used: * Good shooting: shooting percentage in game>average shooting percentage * Poor shooting: shooting percentage in game<average shooting percentage * Average scoring ability: shot attempts in game×average shooting percentage * Games in which good shooting influenced outcome: actual points scored-average scoring ability>point differential against opponent * Games in which poor shooting influenced outcome: actual points scored-average scoring ability<point differential against opponent The following results were obtained: 1) Correlations were observed between winning percentage and shooting percentages excepting free throw shooting percentage, 2) Negative correlations were observed between winning percentage and 3 -point shooting percentage, as well as the proportion of games won with good shooting, 3) Correlations were observed between winning percentage and 2-point shooting percentage, as well as the proportion of games lost with poor shooting Therefore, even in cases in which a team is favored, upsets are more likely in cases in which the team's 2P percentage is low or the opponent's 3P percentage is high, and the team must consider changes to defensive strategy and other aspects of their game plan in such cases. | |||||
