| 内容記述 | With the impact of globalization, the number of registered foreigners in Japan has been increasing, leading to a rise in the demand for healthcare services among foreign residents. Consequently, effective communication in healthcare settings has become a crucial challenge. In particular, the language barrier in dealing with Chinese patients has raised concerns about the potential risks of miscommunication and inaccuracies in medical staff's language use. This paper provides an overview of the current situation regarding foreign residents and medical interpreters, focusing on the language support for Chinese patients. Drawing on experiences shared by medical interpreters, the study examines the issues and effectiveness of language support for Chinese patients in healthcare settings. It discusses the challenges and proposes solutions to improve language support for Chinese patients. |
